Student Survival Guide for Advocacy in Uncertain Times

Free Community Youth Advocacy Event!

This is an event for youth, by youth.  We invite students, parents, leaders, and members of the community to come listen, learn, and participate in the events that students are putting on. Learn from their experiences with school. See what issues they are passionate about. Listen to and honor their hopes for the future. Whether you are a young person yourself or another member of the community, we invite you to join us as we hear from students, families, and community members

The event will feature:

  • Eastside Pathways – Hear from a panel of youth as they share their journeys getting started with advocacy.
  • Speak With Purpose – Practice speech-writing, public speaking, and sharing your passion with confidence.
  • Community Center for Education Results – Learn how youth can participate in the research process as a powerful tool for advocacy.
  • The Root of Our Youth – Participate in a training on racial healing circles and the importance of identity.
  • Youth-Led Workshops – Explore workshops led by youth from the Washington Youth Alliance and local high schools on advocacy topics and skills that matter to them.
  • Words from the 2025 WA State Teacher of the Year, Kim Broomer.
  • Free lunch and opportunity to learn more about local youth-serving organizations.
