Take Control of Your Health - Virtual Health and Resource Fair

The Seattle King County NAACP hosts "Take Control of Your Health" - a virtual health fair. Saturday, July 10, 9:30 am to 12 noon via Zoom. Confirmed speakers are:

Professor Estilla Lightfoot of Tulane University. Topic: Racism and Trauma.
Substance Abuse Counselor Ryan Lindsey of Sound (Health). Topic: Substance Abuse; Supports and Treatment.
Dr. Nancy Fisher, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Topic: Understanding and Navigating Medicaid and Medicare; James Donaldson, former NBA player and author. Topic: My Personal Triumph over a Mental Health Crisis;
Hannah Wilson, farm manager for Black Farmers Collective. Topic:, Healthy Food Options and Community Urban Farming.

The event will also feature breakout sessions and a question-and-answer period. In addition, attendees will receive resources related to Medicaid and Medicare as well as information about how to receive treatment, access healthcare systems, and support friends and family members who may be experiencing a health crisis.
